Sister Francis Award

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Janina Kean paid tribute to the work of Sister Rose and Sister Maurice at the High Watch Annual Picnic.  Both were honored with High Watch's Sister Francis Award for having devoted much of their lives to helping those suffering with addiction and helping families of those who suffer with addiction. Their spiritual retreat work, lecturing, speaking engagements and workshops have educated and helped to heal thousands.

Much loved, both Sisters inspired the crowd who gathered on a rainy Sunday to be with them for this special award. A longtime member of Al-Anon, Sister Rose, credited with encouraging many to face the problem and get help, enchanted all with her acceptance speech. And Sister Maurice's wonderful sense of humor and comic timing made for insightful and enjoyable sharing, especially for those dealing with the daily struggle of living the program.

High Watch has truly been blessed to have both Sister Maurice and Sister Rose as active members of the family. Sunday, November 13th, they will make their 9th appearance for Supper with the Sisters.
