High Watch was founded in 1940 by Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Helping Family Members with Addiction
Addiction is not your fault. You cannot help your loved one in isolation.
OUR COMPASSIONATE CARE offers comfort from the moment your loved one passes through our door to become part of the High Watch family, until the moment they leave with a new found life and the ability to stay sober. You can be assured your loved one will be safe and well cared for while they're with us.
We are dedicated to educating our residents along with their families on how to manage the disease of addiction. Family treatment is critical to the successful outcome of the person suffering from substance abuse. Families are encouraged to set up an appointment with their loved one and their therapist. In addition, our CEO is a specialist in addictive disorder and will meet with families upon request. We encourage all family members and friends to join us for the weekly Saturday afternoon Al-Anon meeting at 4:00 PM.
Alcoholism and drug addiction are chronic illnesses, therefore, our program is rooted in relapse prevention. We integrate the latest in addiction medicine into the teachings of Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 step programs to effect a change and put substance abuse into remission. Our residents and their families benefit from our powerful blend of healing therapy.
High Watch Recovery Center is a non-profit organization. All treatment and medical records are kept private while providing our residents affordable care designed for their individual needs. Our day rate is $260 a day and we admit residents 365 days a year. Residents must be 18 or older and have a minimum of 72 hours abstinence from illicit drugs and alcohol. The minimum length of stay for residential acute care is 21 days. Many of our residents stay 100 days or longer as recommended by NIDA (National Institute on Drug Addiction) for optimal success in treating substance abuse. This is the length of time need for the brain to reset itself.
A day at High Watch is structured yet relaxing. We realize that many of our residents are not in a state of mind well suited for endless meetings and lectures. Our schedule of events are comfortably paced to allow residents adequate time for personal activities, contemplation or rest. In between activities, our residents enjoy three nutritious meals from our renowned kitchen.
