At High Watch Recovery Center every guest receives an individual bio-psycho-social evaluation. A full history of the substance abuse illness is taken as well as current usage patterns. Family and interpersonal dynamics are reviewed along with current environmental stressors. Attention is focused on the treatment of any co-occurring mental health problems. This includes biologic interventions targeted to repair brain neural and neurotransmitter systems that are damaged by a wide variety of substances.
Medical support is available seven days a week to support remission. Mondays through Fridays, the clinical staff includes an Addiction Psychiatrist, APRNs, Licensed Social Workers, Nursing and a Discharge Planner. At the core of the program are the teachings of Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 Step programs to effect a change and put substance abuse in remission. Aftercare planning includes educating the family in regard to the disease of addiction.
The successful High Watch program was designed by President & CEO, Janina Kean, a board certified Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner trained at Yale University. Ms. Kean is a recognized leader in the field of substance abuse and has traveled as far as China and Russia to educate physicians and government officials on state of the art treatment and the 12 Step principles. Dr. Oreste Arcuni heads up the top notch clinical team of licensed therapists and nurses. Both Kean and Arcuni hold courtesy faculty positions at Yale University.
