NESTLED IN TWO HUNDRED WOODED ACRES in the lush Litchfield Hills, High Watch offers residents a special place to recover. Our accommodations are closer to a comfortable bed and breakfast than a medical institution. From the home cooked meals down to the well appointed rooms, we offer hope and solace. Our residents often remark about the natural beauty, tranquility and spiritual energy of our environment as giving them the peace of mind needed to believe in something greater than themselves.

Admission Criteria

Our residents must be 18 or older and have a minimum of 72 hours abstinence from illicit drugs and alcohol. Our pre-admission process includes a health screening, review of current medications and a full history of substance abuse history including current usage patterns. Registration for admission typically begins over the phone. If it is more convenient, you may begin the process with our online pre-registration and one of our Admissions counselors will call you.

We Admit Daily

We admit daily from 8:00 - 5:00 pm. Residents must have someone drive them to High Watch. If needed, transportation can be arranged in advance for us to pick up the resident. Transportation to High Watch from the train or bus can also be arranged through us. View our directions.

Admission

Upon admission, our medical staff meets with the incoming resident to identify any medical issues of an emergency nature that need attention. All residents receive a complete physical and psychiatric evaluation for potential disorders including a review of family, interpersonal dynamics and current environmental stressors. An individualized treatment plan is created to address both the neurobiology of the addiction along with any co-occurring disorders.

An individual therapist is assigned to each resident for weekly counseling to help provide them with the tools and foundation to live sober after leaving High Watch.

What to Bring

To participate in our programs, residents agree to abide by our simple rules; most are outlined in our What to Bring guidelines.

We are a non-profit organization and do not take insurance. This enables us to keep all treatment and medical records completely confidential while providing our residents affordable care designed for their individual needs. Our day rate is $260 a day. This includes room, board, medical diagnosis and treatment. The cost of any prescribed medication is not included.

Residential Acute Care. 21 Day minimum.

Residents entering Residential Acute Care treatment are required to pay upon admission $6,365 for a minimum three week stay. This includes the $260 day rate along with a $105 fee for a required physical and an $800 deposit held in a refundable escrow. Residents extending their care beyond 21 days will pay at the day rate of $260.

Rest and Renewal. 2 or more days.

Recent High Watch Residents may return for our aftercare program 30 days after discharge at the $260 day rate for a minimum 2 day stay. If not a High Watch Alum, a six month abstinence is required for admission to this program.
